Had a fantastic day yesterday at the Adobe OnAir AIR 2008 Tour in London.
Adobe AIR brings Rich Internet Applications to the desktop of all three OS's ! You can use AIR to turn HTML file(s) and JavaScript file(s) into an executable for ANY platform - its a bit like "JVM + FileSystem + SQLite" !
AIR uses WebKit and is therefore compatible with your favorite JavaScript framework and even Google Gears !
Install the runtime, and check out the newest applications.

]]>I don't want to officially announce anything as of yet, but I have set up a Google Code project for the next version of Check Off (4.0). One of the main problems I have had developing it lately is time: I don't have much free. Because of this, updates are few and far between.
The application has always been an open source project, but it's never really been advertised much more than a download link on the carpeaqua site. The feature set for 4.0 is semi-set in stone, but if another developer jumps on board, I'm certainly open to getting their input as well.
4.0 is a complete rewrite from the ground up will require Mac OS X Leopard, so I don't think Apple's NDA will allow me to post my source to Google Code until the day of Leopards release. In the interim, if anyone is interested in helping develop the new version, let me know. I'd love to bring on another developer or two to help speed along development and innovation.
Also, if any enterprising graphic designer is interested in helping shape the new Check Off with icons and UI design, join up. Open source projects are a great way to get your name out there for future paying gigs.
I have been so busy lately that I have neglected checking out Vox's groups. I went in and checked out the groups today, and noticed there wasn't a group for Mac developers: UNACCEPTABLE I SAY.
